Making the decision to find a therapist is one of the most vulnerable decisions that a person can make when seeking help. Inside us all are thoughts and feelings that, over time, mold the story of our lives and who we are. Some thoughts and feelings are hidden and some are shared. Some are helpful and some are the root of pain. Mental health therapy is far more than coming to a place to talk. It allows another party into our inner world to assist in providing science-based support and skills but most importantly, a relationship that is open to you being exactly who you are.
It is my ultimate goal to help provide a safe place for you in developing such a therapeutic relationship. Secondary to this I hope to offer assistance in developing coping skills, providing education and working in a collaborative fashion toward your goals. In my time as a therapist I have had the pleasure to build an alliance with a variety of people ranging from those in intensive inpatient treatment to meeting only a few times. Depression, anxiety, bipolar, relationship issues, LGBTQ+ issues, personality difficulties, trauma and PTSD, suicide, cultural and spiritual issues, grief and loss, psychosis, difficulties related to medical issues among other obstacles are all quite familiar to what I can help with. I am also a substance use professional (formerly known as a chemical dependency professional) and specialize in treating addictions of all kinds as well. I have extensive experience in helping teens and young adults with challenges related to mental health and personal development. I also have recently gained a wealth of experience in meeting with middle aged and late adult age ranges. I am also a Gottman method couple’s therapist. Cultural specialization includes working heavily with Native American populations in a traditional manner, use of language interpreters in session and also people from a variety of faith and religious backgrounds.
It is my greatest joy in life to come along side people who are hurting and offer help as they write their story in a healthy and fulfilling way. If I may be of help please welcome yourself to call.
